so i received a recall letter about floormat, i went to the dealer and took about 3 hours to get something.
mine is the japan made TCH< which i bought in august of 2006. i think toyota first made the TCH that year.
he said they are replacing the floormat which they did, they have replaced my older toyota floormat with new thinner toyota floormat on driver's side and front passenger's side, nothing replaced on backseat floormats.
he also shortened the brake epdal i think.
anyway, here is the info.

i like the thick heavy duty mat for the driver, since that's where most of the junk ends up as there is always a driver and less often passengers in the car.
how thin is it? is it a cheap and flimsy mat or can it handle snow and other junk?

i checked on toyota site where it says for the floormat recall, the older floormat will be replaced with new safer floormat for free or if the driver don't want replacement, the driver can give back the old floormat and get fullr efund for the purchase u did whenever it was.
also, the enw floormat looks genuine toyota floormat cos it says CAMRY on side. it is cut in the sides a lil bit it is thinner than the older floormats but looks genuine.
i just went there thinking maybe its worth it.

also, my old thicker floormats were messed up, very dirty with the snows and dirts.
so at least, am glad i did not have to clean the front dirty floormats. haha
i wish it was n't thinner but i surely think it can hold snows and all dirts

I got my recall letter yesterday, it is resting under my coffee mug right now.
Once they find a problem that I don't have total control over, then I'll bring my car in. Until then, they can keep their dremel tools and whittling knives away from my car.
