Default Max torque

anyone has hard data how much max combined torque TCH has?

Toyota states max combined hp is 190. keeps mum on max torque.

Someone was asking this exact question over on Toyota Nation the other day. I want to say it was 187HP/199TQ.

yes, it was me. we clashed down there on how much combined power and torque does TCH actually produce.
we found that it's advertised 190 bhp max combined.
there is no data on torque though. there are numbers for ICE max torque, and for MG max torque. seperate. but Toyota refuses to comment on max combined torque produced. i know that no matter what, it is roughly 70% ICE/ 30% MG2, that i know, due to PSD design. but what it is at press to the metal and hold, is everyone's guess. she's supposed to have 190 pound foot of torque at 4500 rpms from MG, but how that transpires along with ICE is a ??
simply curious, as torque is arguably more important in some situations, than bhp.

Ok... I just went back over there. I found that thread. I think it was at the top again. I see that you were in there. I'm curious about the specs now myself? I don't think it that critical, I'm just curious in case someone asks me again (someone did ask me the other day).

I just found a "Car and Driver" review that was done on a 2007 model back in June 2006. They say the car has 192HP/199TQ. I would post the link but I'm not too sure about the forum rules on posting links. The review lists a bunch of other specs too.

it's some question, isn't it?

what you have is general Toyota spec for TCH. 190 is COMBINED max hp. 199 is max Mg torque at 4500 rpms. somewhere in all that posting over the silly question, there's my link to official specs sheet for TCH.

you see, 199 is not a combined torque. so far, no one really knows what it is. everyone simply kicks around Toyota's data, and Toyota refuses to post max combined torque "due to multiple variables involved into complex calculation". basically, Toyota either does not know, or does not want to stir the pot, and I wouldn't myself.

like i said, due to PSD, ICE to MG2 ratio stays the same all through the driving - 70/30, unless it's in EM. I am tempted to say that we could simply figure 30% of 199 and 70% of whatever ICE max torque is at max rev limit, and combine those 2, but most likely, that is not the right way of doing it. and I already burned myself on "combining" them in simplistic manner.

all i know, TCH has heck of a pickup uphill, and that's TORQUE.
