Default Hybrid tax credit question.

Not sure on this and forgot to touch on it with TCH dealer. Do I have a special paper to ask for from the dealer, that a Hybrid was purchased? Is there a name or number for paper that I should ask dealer for? Car should be ready to pick up tomorrow or Friday.

Appreciate replies and many thanks.

There's no form to be acquired from the dealer other than your purchase agreement. I bought a Honda Civic Hybrid last year and my taxes are prepared by an accountant, but I know all he wanted to see was a copy of my purchase agreement. $2100 was nicer than the $650 that you and I will now see for the TCH!

I filed with Turbo Tax. Running the software, it asks about Hybrid purchases. I typed in the year, model and purchase date (2006 Prius bought in April '06) and it knew the credit amount - $3150. Simple!
