Default Heating or Cooling

During my last 200 mile trip, I had too much time to piddle with things. It was 35 degrees out side and I had the controls set to AUTO, ECO, and AIR on and about 69 degrees. I noticed that it appears that when the heat is on, the airflow is directed to my feet and when the heat turns off the airflow comes out the middle. So by watching the airflow indicator I could tell if the heater was on or not. Another little design thingy.. Did notice that at about 35 degrees outside - MPG drops about 3-4 mpg over the same trip in warmer temps.

My mpg has taken a 3 -4 mpg hit since it turned cold. Heat is directed at the floor so you don't have it blowing directly on your face.
