I'll humor you

I 150% love my 2009 Camry. I never would have thought that I would like a Mid-Size Sedan.

As for MPG... I get 30~35 normal city driving. 35~45 When i'm actually trying to get good MPG. So real world... aka non-hybrid owner driving... 30~35 MPG. I'm sure it could be better, but I live in a REALLY hilly area. (just under 1900 feet, and all my clients are down in the 900ft range... so I clime a LOT of hills to get home)

2009 camry. super happy 1100 miles with 2 gas tank.

 

1) After 3 months and almost 6000km (~4000mi) we still wouldn't trade it for anything else.

2) City mileage varies. I live in a flat city. A month ago I filled up and over 2 days drove 140km (80mi) non rush hour traffic and had a tank avg of 4.8l/100km (49 mpg US). Most of our commutes are during peak times, and so far we're averaging 5.4l/100km (43 mpg US). It doesn't seem to matter if we do city or highway as the tank avg doesn't seem to change. What does hurt is rain, A/C use or a really long wait in traffic where the battery doesn't get a chance to recharge while we're moving.

 

I love my 2007 TCH, best car I have ever owned. Its now just over 1 year old and has over 18,000 miles. The lifetime MPG is 40.3 (see my sig). My commute is mostly local highway, 22 miles each way. Short trips/commutes will hurt milage. Milage is much better in warm weather.

 

1. Love the car. Previously owned a Corvette and a Supra.

2. City mileage is a function of how long the drive and if it is preceded by Highway mileage.

If I drive just city, no highway, I get 36 mpg for short drive. If I have a longer trip, I normally get 40-42 mpg.

If I drive after having been on the freeway, I always get better than 40 mpg and often see 50 mpg.

I have had the car for two years now and am still learning details about how to optimize it.

My lifetime city mileage average is around 38 mpg.
