Default Creeking in Rear Deck

HI Everyone,

I have an 09 TCH and when the weather is cold and I drive over an un-even road or over a bump the rear deck creeks and rattles. Has anyone come across this before? Fix?

Thanks

Do a Search near the top of the page for, Rear Deck Noise. You will find two that had this same problem.

My '07 TCH has no creeks or rattles so far. It's now at 17,000 miles.

I have 4 or 5 different rattle points, and my 2009 is coming up on 5k. I am dismayed at how bad this vehicle squeaks and rattles.

I also have a strange rear deck noise. I also have a driver visor mirror rattle, some rattle I think from the driver side 'oh sh#t' bar, the glove compartment door rattles at certain engine harmonics.

pathetic build construction.

Be sure to lift the cup holder centers out and see that nothing is down in them. I had a pretty good rattle and my wife found she had put a few quarters in the cup holders. That was where the noise was coming from. Also check your door side pockets. My wife stuffs her side pocket and crates rattles for me to gripe about.

My left visor made a noise when the car was a few months old. I found it was around the plastic trim over where the arm attaches to the roof. I could touch it and it would stop even on a rough road. After touching it at times for a few weeks the noise/ squeak completely stopped.

Good point. Unfortunately, that was done a long time ago. I even bought custom cut rubber pads to keep stuff from rattling/rolling around. Everything in the side pockets are wedged in with napkins/etc., so there aren't any issues from there.

I guess I just was expecting more than what toyota delivered, having come from driving an audi, where they took a lot of care in their design to keep things quiet and rattle free. e.g. lining their side pockets with a felt like material. That being said, no car is perfect, and I ended up with rattles in my previous cars. It just took 40-60k to start.. not 2k
