Question Confusion on Consumption Display

On my new 2009 TCH, I go into the
Trip Information -> Fuel Consumption
display and it shows "Best" and "Average". Is that the best on the trip? Best since ? or what? The manual is not clear on this. Any way to see the best mileage I got on the last trip or a previous trip? And it doesn't show any interval with better than 60mpg even when I coasted down a long hill on the interstate.

I searched this forum but couldn't find an answer.

Best seems to be the average value at the time you pushed the reset button. Average is the current average, since the last reset.

You can reset as often as you want.

Exactly.

I always reset when I refill this way I can see what my BEST TANK AVG is. I've seen a picture where someone got the AVG up to 99.9 and did a reset so that the BEST was at 99.9. Only way to get ride of that is to do a RESET ALL at the top right of the screen.

The best is the highest MPG you have obtained since a reset of the average. Mine shows 40.1. This is the highest I have obtained on a tank (I reset the average when I refuel). If my next reset is 42.4, it will replace the best.

As mentioned above, if you select 'reset all' it will clear the best, average, and screen. When you clear the average it should also clear the screen (I think). I cannot tell if there are two functions to the reset -- one tap clears the average -- tap and hold clears the average and screen. I guess I just press it until the average and screen clears.

I think the one press clears both the graph and the avg. It did for me last time I filled up.

You're probably right...I just couldn't remember and was too lazy to walk to my car.

P.S - hope you and your bigger-little one are feeling better.

I don't have all that extra info, is it because I don't have the nav screen??

That's correct. That data is only available with NAV.
