Is anyone like myself getting "faked out" at seeing what they think is an 07 Camry when they look at it from the front and to have it actually be an Avalon? In my opinion, they look almost identical in the grille and headlight area.

Doesn't fool me. The Camry has the Jimmy Durante nose. The Avalon is more squared off with the Toyota logo IN THE grille instead of over it.

 

Looking at them side by side the differences are pretty obvious. But I could see how spotting an Avalon coming towards me I would think it was a Camry, especially before seeing the photos side by side.

 

I actually get "faked out" at a distance from the Mazda 6 because of the similarity of headlights.

And then some of us confuse things even more... my '07 Camry has 17" wheels off an Avalon!!

 

I have mistaken a GS400 with an avalon ata distance, but not the Camry and at a distance the Yaris and Camry seem to have strong family ties. I will say if you look quick at the new LS460 form the side and at a distance you will see strong family ties to the Camry and also the GS.

 

The first thing I thought when I saw the new Camry was that it looked really similar to the Avalon. I have thought Avalons were new Camrys, but not the other way around. I cured myself after sitting at a light next to a Toyota dealer that had new Camrys and Avalons next to each other and I noticed the Camry has the Toyota logo hanging off the hood into the grill like a Muppet nose, and the Avalon has the logo centered in the grill. I haven't been faked-out since.
