Yaris 'spider' commercial - LOL!
It is hilarious and very well made, something I want to add to the "Auto Anti Bird Defense.mpg" I keep on my desktop. Script:
- spider made from gas nozzels and a glass gasoline battery walks across the screen
- suddenly, the new Yaris shows up -- and runs it over
- the Yaris repositions by the 'corpse' and pops open the gas tank cover
- a tenticle like hose emerges and sucks up the spider's gas guts
- the Yaris scampers about and reproduces -- by division

I just saw this, less than 20 minutes ago.
I'd love for an upgrade fuel hose tentacle. A vampire hybrid... ...I'd never need gas again. Just drive along side to a hummer/large vehicle, let the tentacle hose do it's thing, and viola! Full tank. I almost think I'd rather have that than my lightning gun idea...Then again, I'd think I'd be rather thrilled with both. And the electric defense shield from that Mercury commercial.

I'm actually thinking about test driving a Yaris (sedan, don't like the "liftgate") to see what they are like. Maybe I would put more miles on my vehicle if I got better mileage. (~5000 miles a year is nothing)

This might be a dumb question, but why doesn't the American Yaris have IISS (start/stop hybrid technology), while the Japanese version does? It looks like IISS makes the car get somewhat better FE and can run the AC when the car is stopped. IISS looks very similar to BAS.

But this offers an interesting taxonomy:
- those that automaticly turn off engine to save fuel but do not provide power assist
- those that have the above plus regenerative braking and power assist
- those that have the above plus electric vehicle mode
