Seem Like a Variation of the Porsche 911 Company Car...
In past years, there have been articles of some employee's getting a Porche 911, etc. as a company car. In the minds of many people, this seems over the top.
While I'm all for small businesses, I've seen a few company vehicles in Dallas like this. Some how they need an H2 for this business. It's parked in the area of Preston and Beltline - affluent North Dallas towards Plano with a bunch of people "keeping up with the Jones....".
I'm at a total loss justifying an H2 as a business vehicle for embroidery. Yes, people are free to get themselves stuff to impress others, gratify themselves, to be "ballsy", etc... I'm sure that's the true motivation, but how can you justify this from a dollars-and-cents bussiness standpoint? I'm not even sure a van is required, and it's got to cost less to purchase and maintain. There should be no tax breaks for this perk - sorry.
It's a very sad commentary about American society if flaunting a Hummer as a company vehicle generates business....if this is so, I wish there was a way I could migrate to another temperate planet and watch such people choke in the mess they are making....
Sorry about the rant, but this kind of stuff hits a nerve.

Its not a hummer, its a tax break......
They purchase them for business partly because thanks to a rediculous law, the price of vehicles over 6000 pounds can be deducted from your income if used for business. That equates to a $20-30k discount for some on an H2....

Great article!
In Japan, it's very likely that anyone making an H2 into a billboard on a busy road would get a backlash. They don't care for these kinds of things. It would be nice if that attitude came here.

It's interesting that the law was first enacted to help out farmers. Given G.M.'s reliance on large SUV's, I'm guessing they are lobbying to make sure the law isn't changed.

Anyone here think $500 Million for a few years of Howard Stern on Sirius was ridiculous as well?
