Default Another way to stop using oil?

My home is heated by oil. During the next 6 months or so my oil burner is only used to heat our water. With the price of home heating oil now well above $4 per gallon, I decided to order an on demand electric water heater. I'm not sure at this point what the savings might be, obviously my electric bill will rise. But I felt I had to do something.

Here is a link to the unit I ordered.

Actually I did, but the expense and the fact I'm in NE made it impractical at this time. But my brother just got a job at a solar panel plant under construction here in MA. I told him to send any seconds my way! I'm seriously looking to take at least a partial load off the the grid, maybe one 20A circuit to start.

Ya, I looked into them also, but it would require massive plumbing changes.
