Selling a battery from a 2005 Ford Escape Hybrid.

Battery was installed in my 2009 Escape when purchased.  The PO let the car sit for several years without restarting it; and when he went to sell it he took it to a local shop and had the battery replaced with what he was told was a compatible unit.  It did not run as it should, and through a forum member I learned that the computer is not compatible with a 2009. The battery tests good through ForScan but it would discharge if it sat for a week or so; I'm convinced this was due to the incompatibility of the '05 to the '09.  I found a junkyard 2009 battery and it's running great now.

I did remove the cover to install wires to allow an external charge, and had to use this technique a few times.  I believe if installed in the right car it'd be fine.  I put two "remanufactured" Advance Auto fans in it but one looked like it was removed from a used car.  Can't guarantee they're both good.
