Hybrid cars 'closest we have to pure electric'

Hybrid vehicles are one of the most accessible forms of green transport to the eco-friendly driver, an expert has suggested.

Jay Nagley, publisher of Clean Green Cars, said that the public is waiting for the electric car to become readily available, but noted the technology is not ready for a commercial launch.

In addition, he claimed it may never be possible to create a pure electric vehicle, but highlighted the environmentally-friendly alternatives which could become popular.
