Ford Motor Company has announced an aggressive plan to bring Hybrid electric cars more quickly to the market during the next four years. The plan introduces new fuel efficiency solutions for cars and will offer the next-generation hybrids. The company expects to have a new hybrid electric van by the year 2010.
“Ford is heading in the direction America and our customers want us to go, which is a green, high-tech and global future,” Ford Executive Chairman Bill Ford said in a statement.
Hybrid electric cars have become a top priority for every American automaker. Ford wants to take the lead by offering a new battery electric commercial van in 2010 and a new hybrid electric vehicle in 2011. The automaker also plans to offer a new hybrid plug-in version by 2012.

This IS good news. Think of the potential gas-savings of a hybrid delivery van (flowers, auto parts, whatever). Not to mention, certain non-business folk (like Bob) may be interested in buying one of these. Now there WILL be that option.
The more choices the better. Fuels the adoption and the advancement of the technology.
