Welcome,
You will not find this group short of ideas for improving FE either. We are sometimes a vocal group, but a lot of good ideas flow, both in the vehicle forums and accross them.
With the price of fuel going were it is, you can pat your back on an extremely wise decision that is going to save you lots of bucks and help the planet as well.

Welcome to the Green Hybrid forum- we're happy to have you, and congratulations on the new hybrid! It sounds like you've already started picking up driving techniques from other hybrid owners who post information, and there's a lot of information to absorb. I know it took me several months to really get a handle on the kind of driving I was going to be doing with a hybrid, and that was only after I'd been posting regularly on GH for a while. Don't be afraid to experiment- keep one eye on the mpg gauge from time to time, and you'll really start to notice how different things you do when you drive have a big impact on FE.
Unfortunately, you're starting just as things are really getting chilly out there, and the cold weather might be a bit of a blow to your mpg expectations at first. Just keep in mind the fact that everyone else's fuel efficiency is really being killed by the weather, and you in a hybrid are going to be doing much better than they are, overall. Good luck and see you around the forum!

Welcome! We like it here.
Leah's right about the MPG suffering in the cold winter. I'm near Dallas, so it's not a big hit. But those in the North and Canada especially can chime in on the winter MPG challenges.

Just to add to Steve and Leah's comments, this is what I find in Huntsville AL:

If you pay attention to the warm-up, especially keeping speeds low by staying at neighborhood speeds, 25 mph, for the first mile, it will help. Our cars are relatively inefficient until they warm-up. So keeping the load on the engines low during this warm-up keeps the total fuel burn reasonable:
