If business owned means multiple drivers, some predisposed to 'test driving' the car, I would steer clear.

It does not always mean multiple drivers, but, as with any purchase, take precautions. You may want to consider getting it inspecte dby a local dealer before purchasing it.

Please correct me if I am wrong here, since I am not an Insight owner. I have this notion in my head that the Insight battery is not protected to the same degree as the Prius against deep discharges, and so my have a shorter lifespan. It was mostly this consideration that would make me shy away from second hand ownership, especially if the car was used by multiple drivers may not have cared much about how they drove and it's effect on the car's longevity.

I bought the car for $10,500. Although it was "business owned" the guy that had it was a consultant and with the exception of two trips he put all the miles on the car. It hadn't been detailed prior to purchase, I'm really happy with how it is cleaning up.

$10,500 seems pretty good. Be sure to post if you have any questions.
