Higher Tire Pressures
Just curious what everyone has there tire pressure at. I have yet to add any air to mine but, am very hesistant to go over the recommended side wall pressure. Anyone on the list have a tire blow up because of to much pressure? Good experiences/bad experiences thoughts.

Re: Higher Tire Pressures
I think you'll find that everyone here either runs factory spec (35/32, I think), +5, or max sidewall (44 in my case). I doubt that anybody is running over sidewall, and if they are, it's not because we told them to.

Re: Higher Tire Pressures
I remember reading about people running 50psi.

Re: Higher Tire Pressures
Some tire sidewalls state up to 51psi max (especially on larger, wider tires - like those on many 17" rims).
My standard Dunlops are 44psi max. Whatever was put in at the dealership is what is in them, and I haven't checked yet (I've had the car only three days). I suspect they're at 32 or so, though. |
Re: Higher Tire Pressures
37 PSI.

Re: Higher Tire Pressures
max sidewall for me, I love the rolling feature that comes with it ;)

Re: Higher Tire Pressures
42 Front and Back for me.

Re: Higher Tire Pressures
60psi front and back on mine. Tires are rated at 51 btw. Standard 14" dunlop sp 20 FEs.
You are more likely to blow a tire with too low pressure than too high. I don't recomend going as high as I do unless your a fanatic, but the likelyhood of it blowing is less than someone running a tire at 10psi below recomended. I've hit many a potholes without it blowing btw. |
Re: Higher Tire Pressures
I run 45 front and back on my Bridgestones.

Re: Higher Tire Pressures
44psi, sidewall max. I increased it slowly and didn't really notice any change.
