Default 2006 HCH - IMA going- CODE P0A7F- options ?

From my reading that code means the battery is toast. The car has 123,000 miles.

It's still getting decent MPG (38-41) I don't try rthat hard and I think the tires could be better.

The IMA/ engine light just started coming on.

Questions:

- I'm thinking about just getting a junkyard battery for $400 or so. What years will work? 06-08?

- Now that I have an IMA light how quicklu will it deteriorate? - I got the car at 80K mi. I put 40k on in 14 mos. In the beginning I could get 43 through a whole tank with some effort. It slowly seemed like it was getting harder to get good MPG. Now i work at it I can get 40 but I don't give any effort at all and I get a steady 38.

- What else should I know about swapping out the battery ?

thanks

Dave
