2004 HCH needs catalytic converter - ideas?
Hey folks,
My Honda Civic Hybrid Sedan (with 170,000 miles) coded a p1600 and my trusted repair guys quoted me a $2415 cost including two new O2 sensors. I need to pass an emission test here in North Carolina to get a new car registration. Are there cheaper options available? Does the HCH have a similar catalytic converter to a regular 2004 Honda Civic. I'm looking for a low cost solution ..... Thanks! JCD

I assume P0420? Anything else?
Aftermarket companies:
Magnaflow
Eastern Catalytic
No idea if they make them for the HCH1. I used a Magnaflow for my HCH2. Very happy with it.
If you need O2 sensors (front only if you're throwing a O2 sensor code, rear is cheaper and probably worth replacing), replace only with Denso. You can find them on Rockauto.com.
Most importantly (best for last)... Google "anti-fouler plug"
