In my area just north of Spokane in British Columbia we pay $107.9 per liter. 107.9x 3.78= $407.86 per US gal. Last summer we hit $124.9 per lit. or $372 per gal.. H

Miami is #9; they must be referring largely to Miami Beach.
There it like 3.70-3.80 for premium sometimes.
If it's like that in Miami Beach, then four dollar gasoline must be normal in San Francisco.

Re: Why do I drive a Hybrid? Here is one reason:
While driving all over town I check gas prices at any Shell station I pass. I have found differences in as much as 20 cents/gal within a 3-4 mile area! I can save even more if I use Arco or Safeway gas, but I find my HCHII more sluggish when I use their gas. When it comes time to fill up, I will drive the extra 3 miles from my house to save $1.50 - $2.40 on the fill and usually work an errand into the trip, or make sure I pass the station on the way home from work since I'm not filling up 2-3x a week anymore (vs my old car which I did use Arco and Safeway in because I didn't care and was convenient).
I also try and use http://www.gasbuddy.com which helps too!

I guess we're just lucky here in Oklahoma!! We might have to jump out of the way of a few tornados but I bought gas last week for $2.669!!!

I think the reason gas prices are so low in Oklahoma is because the cost of living in general is low. Also being very close to the Wynnewood, Oklahoma refineries certainly can't hurt. Considering the size of the country, we are fairly close to the Corpus Christi, TX refineries too. Last time I hit the gas pump it was $2.71 for 87 at a Shell station, no complaints here! One time I spent $5.60 a gallon on 101 octane, but I won't be doing that again as there was NO real gain in MPG, what a waste.....I just had to try though.
