We're officially a two hybrid family!
I picked up our new MMH tonight. It was an interesting purchase--I liked the CR-V's driving dynamics and "Hondaness" more, but the "hybridness" of the MMH trumped the CR-V for both my wife and I.
I'm very interested to see the differences between the IMA and whatever they are calling the HSD/Ford system. It was crazy to drive almost a mile in stop and go traffic without the ICE spinning. It seems to favor city driving as opposed to highway speeds though since it is always burning gas above 40mph. I did a round trip version of my daily commute to pick up the HCH parked at my office, and averaged 34mpg (reported). That beats the 25mpg (premium) I would have gotten in my Outback, but obviously can't hold a candle to the 50+ I get in the HCH.
The MMH will be the ski/road trip car and the HCH will be the daily commuter/grocery getter. I'm stoked to have two hybrid options!

Ahhh.... and for most of us it only gets "better" as regular gas-only cars are no longer adequate options.
Congratulations !!!!

I did get the AWD--I think that's all they ship to Colorado. I still maintain that good tires are more important than AWD, but it is even nicer to have both good tires and AWD! (now I just need to buy good snow tires at some point).
As far as specs, it's fully loaded with every option Ford makes--I think that's all they ship anywhere since they can get away with it. I'm not a big fan of the leather seats, but otherwise all of the options are nice. It actually has a 110v outlet on the dash which will be really sweet for recharging camera batteries and such while camping. Plus I can plug in the engine block heater when I'm at work! (that is a joke in case the sarcasm isn't apparent on the internet).
Yes, I think they licenced version 1.0 of HSD and have made tweaks to it since then. The graph on the Nav system looks like it came straight out of a Prius.
