Thumbs down Thanks to you I will know your pain but NOT feel it...maybe?

Thanks to all that have posted to me; but I cannot plunk down 20k+ for what to me is not solid mature technology. I have searched all over the web and found too many people in the drive it off the cliff camp. Call me cynical but the "let's neuter the cars brain so we don't have to replace the battery" sounds too likely to be true. Other people claiming that they felt like sitting ducks or unable to get out of the way make me feel like this might be a party I should pass on. If the electric assist is compromised you have an 1.3L engine (not much more than a motorcycle) and then you are the mercy of dealers and Honda corporate to make it all better!

One question in closing...

Why oh why did Steve V decide to get rid of his 07 TCH?

Find me chasing the elusive Blizzard Pearl elsewhere on this site,
All the best,
MrGimme

I generally keep a car for less than a year. The TCH was a good car but I like change. I bought and sold two other new cars between the TCH and HCH. Soon I'll sell the HCH, too, since my vehicle needs have now changed – again.

Good luck to you!

Honestly, if I didn't know what I know about electronics I would have bought a honda Fit or s2000. Almost the same gas mileage with the Manual Fit, although you do give up a bit with the s2000, but the HCH has more stretching room and better ride comfort for longer trips IMO.

The biggest reason I chose the HCH over the Fit was I don't feel comfortable in a car that I can, from the driver's seat, reach over without bending and touch the passenger door/window. I use that as an acid test on whether or not I can live with a car's size/interior. The Prius I have trouble in this category too...

Well I just converted back to super lightweight rims 15" under 15 lbs each, and 195/60/15 tires, to see how much fuel those low pro 50lb wheels were eating up. I am now averaging 39 and can pull 50 on the freeway with no trouble where 44 used to be tough.

I'd say I was close and the car gets approx. 5-8mpg more with lightweight rims and stock sized LRR tires. Anone want my old Si rims? haha.....

hmmmm look nice or save the planet...... ahh ^&%* I'll save the planet a lil.

The stock tires are 195/65/r15. Why did you go with the smaller and wider tire? You would do better FE with the stock tires? H

Well they are still LRR type tires I stole them off of my 1996 celica, I will soon be selling since I had just replaced them at the tune of 688 bucks and they only had about 250 miles on them.

When these wear out I'll go back to completely stock. However, I do already see a nice boost in FE which will have to get me by till then.

That is good you are getting some use out of the tires. I would do the same! H
