Recharging the HCH battery
I have a 07 hch with about 15000 miles on it. Recently i can never get it to recharge to the full 8 bars of battery capacity, it wont go past 7 now but it used to. Does anyone else have this problem and if so, will get worse?

No way to charge the pack other than regen. I hit 8 bars a fare amount, but have allot of long hills. I would not worry too much about 7 bars as it is hard to get 8 bars city or flat land driving. Try driving without assist bars showing may help! Hal
Our's still tops out every so often. More often it's somewhere between half and three quarters. It'll often top out going down a long hill, maybe try that?
I have the same experience. My 06 civic hybrid occasionally reaches 8 bars but it mainly stays between 3-5 bars. I don't think it ever fully charges in city driving. I don't think you have to worry.
My understanding is you should worry when the battery completely loses its charge on a frequent basis.

The battery really likes to be at 5 bars. If it's less than that, it tries to force regen, if it's more than that, it will increase assist affinity to dump "extra" juice. I have a hilly commute that finishes with a 2 mile downhill to my office, but I rarely hit 8 bars. The only times I max out (where it doesn't allow regen anymore) are when I drive into the mountains.
