More cowbell? (aka Anyone replace their stereo?)

More cowbell? (aka Anyone replace their stereo?)
I don't need more cowbell, but I would like more treble. I've the stock stereo - no NAVI - in my car now. Has anyone replaced their stock stereo with another in-dash stereo or upgrading their speakers? Curious to know how that turned out.
(I read about someone's great NAVI + back-up assist replacement ... more than I'm planning to do.)
Thanks!

It is pretty straight forward. Here is a good DIY for just the radio:

otherwise here is some other DIY for other car audio related:

I have installed a Pioneer AVIC D2 recently, it was straight forward, getting the steering controls to work took some time. But, it works now.
The new Pioneer AVIC D3 is suppose to come out in March. I like how it has a **** for the volume instead of buttons.

Exbauer - The AVIC is probably more stereo than I'm interested in purchasing, but the links are very helpful ... thank you.
I'm hoping to get better treble response and sound, as even at +6 treble, the sound is more muffled than I'd like. Not sure what other options to look at, but as I haven't frequented 8thcivic.com, it's definitely worth a browsing to see what's what.

Just replacing the speakers with a nice set of components will help significantly. Adding an amp, with a Line out Converter to interface with the Stock Nav. system, would be a solid second step.
I intend to do both of these items at some point in the near future. I am just debating on adding a sub as well. I do not plan on doing anything to the rear speakers, only replace the fronts.

Otto - Appreciate the tip. And, since I don't sit in the back seat, I'm not planning to replacing those either!! ;-)
Do we know what brand/rating the stock speakers are?
