Default Block heater installation ?

Has anybody installed a block heater themselves?

In Honda's installation instructions, Step 29 says: "Because the battery is disconnected, you need to enter the Honda multi-matic feedback signal as described in the Service Manual."

Does anybody know what that means?

If one of you has the Service Manual, then could help me figure this one out?

Thanks,
Dan

you dont need to disconnect the battery. the block heater doesnt interface with the cars electrical system at all. just make sure not to short anything out.

When i installed mine the worst part was loosening the coolant plug where the heater element goes. I had to cut a breaker bar in half to get the leverage I needed in the confined space.

other than that it was a snap. I spent a couple hours total.

That's what I'll do, I won't disconnect the battery.

Thanks for the reply.

I posted a bunch of photos of my install (a friend did it at a local car shop so the only luxury was the car lift). This one shows the Battery area and really the cord just snakes around it so you don't have to disconnect the battery.
