I'm currently looking at a base 2009 HCH with 25K miles on it for about $15K. It is silver and in very good condition. I was initially set on buying it, but after reading so many poor reports about batteries and poor gas mileage for the HCH, I'm strongly reconsidering. I would probably buy a HondaCare to extend the warranty so I am covered if there are issues, but from what I've read, many people have been told by their dealers to just deal with the 30ish MPG as the car isn't going to get as advertised...

And advice on this particular car? Should I just avoid the 09 and look for something newer - perhaps a prius instead?
