At 48k miles...should I do "recommended service"?
I'm always skeptical of car dealers "recommended service" packages. However, our 2008 Civic Hybrid is at 48k and we're going to get the oil changed soon. Since we're nearing 50k, we're considering getting one of those packages (which I believe is a bunch of inspections) when we take it in to get an oil change.
My family's always resisted those types of things but this is our first hybrid vehicle. Still, I remain skeptical. From your experience, are those packages really necessary? And if not, which of the various milestone services are actually necessary (and what are the real mileages to do them)?
Thanks!

The only thing I have the dealer do are flashes for the PC's and change the dot 3 brake fluid every three years. All other inspections I do myself. The M/M pretty well tells you what must be performed. Take the time to read and under-stand this great system! H
