Default 2006 Civic Hybrid rear beverage holder

I'm two days into owning my 2006 magnetic blue honda civic hybrid with navigation and loving it even more than I thought I would.

The owner's manual says there is a rear seat beverage holder in the center console - just pivot it down.

I can not figure this out. Can anyone help me?

Thanks.

Hummm... That appears incorrect. Our 2006 hybrids do not have rear seat cup holders. The regular Civic (at least the EX model) has a swing down rear armrest with cup holders.

It is because of this that I purchased an aftermarket center console with 2 ajustable cup holders + storage that I installed on the center of the rear seat.

Sorry.

Yeah, the Hybrid manual does say that there are drink holders in the rear arm rest. Guess it is a typo/mistake.

Many sizes of drinks with lids easily fit in the door storage -- FWIW.

Seems silly that the cars in some places have things and others do not.

Why would you take away something useful? If it's useful, why not put it in all the cars? Oh well...

If you want to blame anyone, blame American Honda Motor Co Thay are given a shopping list by the parent company in Japan. You have remote trunk opening ,but not VSA. Oz has rear arm rest but not maintenance minder. UK has rear disc brakes and fog lights but not gasoline cap warning. And so on............ The cars are an assembly of parts, the deciding factor being what each market is thought to require and the target profile of the potential buyer all set against the perceived competitor such as VW Jetta.

rta - Where did you get your car? I am still interested to see who picks up the car that I originally ordered from a Pittsburgh, PA (Monroeville) dealer (Valley Honda). I ordered an '06 Magnetic Pearl Hybrid w/Navigation but after 5 months and STILL no car I ended up calling a different dealer and 7 days later bought it from them (Leesburg Honda). The local dealer was so anti-sales that I'd like to warn the buyer about their Sales staff and how poor they were throughout my waiting for the car.

My son uses the rear doors to store his drinks. I saw him sleep in the back and tried looking while driving to figure out where his drink went. Once we got home I found his drink there. At least he found some use for it and didn't spill it on the seats.
