Rear wheel fender skirts

Default Rear wheel fender skirts

Has anyone thought about making some?

I found some pages on google where people made some out of cardboard (yuck) and they said it did improve FE a little.

I did a few different searches here and didn't find any topics about it

I am realy thinking about trying it, but the wife doesn't want me too, she think it is ugly

They were big in the mid. 50's and 60's. H

I think they're ugly, but make the insight look like a futuristic car. I guess it wouldn't hurt to do an experiment and see how large the FE gain is.

I think I will do a test on our next long drive with some temp skirts

Once you master the rear skirts start working on the front . Some people are actually working on the fronts. Anything that will help the FE is important I guess. H

How could you possibly do that on the front?

Check out some of the sites and you will see cars with skirts on the front. Most of these cars are not hybrids. They are doing it to improve thier FE. H

Yes. I have a 92 Civic and want to put rear fender skirts on it. Do you know where I can get them, if indeed they are available?
