Default oil change..

05 HCH1 with 67K.....2 questions...as noted manual says 1 year or 10k miles which ever comes first..I don't drive my car much do I still need to follow this...when I got the car I replaced all of the under car plastic shielding, does anybody make a oil change kit so you don't have to remove the plastic, I have to do every thing on my back in the carport....many thanks

I would change the oil at least every year even though you don't drive 10k. Just good insurance.

I have not heard of any "kit" you could buy to change the oil without removing the bottom plastic shield. I have replaced the stock clips on mine with different ones which are easier to remove without breaking.

I wish my truck was that easy....I change mine every 5,000 miles, 13 quarts of oil, oil filter and two fuel filters done on a creeper in front of the garage.

Either way, I would, at a minimum, change once a year. If you do not drive your car often and for long distances, water and acids will build up in the oil and damage your engine. You should take at least one trip or 20 miles or more every week or every other week to get the engine up to temp and keep the seal wet and the water boiled out of the oil.
