Just out of curiosity what percentage of us have had the check engine light on for at least some period of time.

So far, no check engine light for me.

 

I purchased my 2003 new. They were just introduced and the sales crew really were not that familiar with hybrids. I was on my own except for what I was learning from a Yahoo group for Insites.
The first time the ce light came on was in 2008. That was a screwy one too. I rolled backwards down a hill in 1st gear clutch depressed and riding the brake. Started forward and 'blink' on came the light. That one went away after a few miles though.
The 2nd was just this summer and turned out to be the oxygen sensor. (Sensor 2 perhaps? ... not sure.) Had the dealer change it because the car is getting on in age and I didn't want to break anything. I did do some online pricing but there were to many variables and I am better with electricity and machine mechanics but not so good with auto mechanics.

 

Shouldn't there be a "Yes, my Check Engine Light has cone on." in the poll questions?
