Default which cat?

For everyone with cat issues, is it the cat that is part of the exhaust manifold or the cat down under the car? I am going back today to pull the code as my CEL is back on. I have 115k (manual trans) and I am hoping it's the cat down below so I can just use a test pipe w/a CEL fix, or I will get one from a local salvage yard.

Have any of you had to replace the exhuast manifold with cat?

Well, now I see why so many people here have complained about cat. Just had my buddy (works at a Honda dealer) update the ECU for the cat. He didn't pull the code for me as he thought I had written it down last time. Well, about 8 miles from the dealership the CEL came back on.

The exhaust manifold has to be replaced. Time to call the salvage yard.

I would run several cans of seaform engine cleaner and/or redline injector cleaner in the gas tank before spending big bucks replacing the CAT.
