Broken Fuel Gauge
Hello all, My wife and I are the proud new owners of a 2003 HCH w/ 61k. Everything seems to be working fine except the fuel gauge. The reading on the gauge is almost full missing about 2 bars. This has not moved since we got the car and I have already put about 10 gallons into the tank. Also, when the car is first turned on the gauge goes from no bars up to missing 2 bars (almost full). Could someone give me advise on what I could check? I have already checked all the fuses and they appear fine. All other lights, gauges, etc seems to work. Thanks!!
Hey Nata$
Welcome to the site. I wish that I could help you but this sounds like something the dealer is going to have to look at. Where did you buy the vehicle? If it was a Honda dealership, take it back to them. Good luck!!

I don't know what it could be; my first thought was that maybe the float is stuck.
I did find an informative link with lots of info regarding fuel guages and how they work. You can go through the various pages & read up on it. Maybe something will help there.

Thanks for the replies. I was able to take it a honda dealer yesterday. They ran their checks and the car had three software updates (and charged me $200) and they still did not figure out the problem. They said that it would require them to remove back seat and take a look at the sending unit/pump. So at this point I'm not sure if I want to spend the $300 + to get it fixed. They did tell me that the gas light should come on when I'm running low so hopefully I won't run out of gas but I don't think that is too big a problem since I'm getting about 46mpg
Thanks again for the link and help.
