Default Anyone else at 120,000 miles?

Yay! i just passed the 120k mile mark on my 2003 HCH. I'm getting 42/47 gas mileage (not bad, considering that I drive like a road-rage jerk most of the time). The battery usually holds a charge and there has only been a handful of times where the charge level mysteriously dropped to zero. The engine and transmission seem okay (although neither is as stealthy as when it was new, but what is?)

only a handful of items have had to be replaced: brake pads ) 107k, CD player around 100k, and it urrently needs a new fuel oxegenator. But the car remains reliable and thrifty.

total cost of repairs have probably been under a grand over 5 years (excluding oil changes, of course).

my satisfaction level: 9 out of 10.

Great to hear that Chris! I currently have 105,000 kilometres on mine. I have a long way to go to catch up to you. My maintenance costs have been minimal as well.

122,000 miles and still going strong. Did have both batteries replaced, so I should easily get another 120,000 miles out of her. The only other replacements I've made were the tires and front brakes.

Happy Howie

I had to replace the 12v reserve battery once, but the 144v IMA battery is still chugging along.

The thing that wore out the fastest was a little chunk of carpet where my foot rests in fron of the gas pedal.

oddly enough, i haven't had to replace any headlights or brake lights in five years.

I'm going on 5 years as well with mine, But I have only put 57K miles on it so far. It is looking like honda made a pretty reliable car. I too have spend under 1K in repairs so far (not including service).

140,000 + on my '04 HCH MT. I haven't been driving it that much since I got a new bike this year - which gets worse mileage BTW (~45mpg). That's ok, since the GRIN factor of the bike MORE than offsets the difference in fuel economy!

@ 120k miles, the tranny needs to be drained/refilled (the manual) and does the timing belt need changing?

No timing belt. Chain. I did my valve adjustment then too. It was an easy job. So was the tranny oil change.

Good review.

Which tranny do you have?

When should the valve adjustment be done? I'm at 65k miles and have been doing regular oil changes. I'm about to do a tranny flush on the M/T.
