towing with escalade hybrid?

just purchased a brand new MB glk 350 and would like to tow it with auto transporter to LR. can I do it? the tow label says 5000lbs and 10,000 lbs with weight distributing hitch. does an auto transporter have a weight distributing hitch? glk 350 is 4079 lbs and auto transporter is 2k lbs i think.

The MAX tow rating is 5,800lbs 2WD and 5,600lbs AWD. That's over weight.

The max for hybrid is 6600 lbs. escalade non hybrid is 8500 lbs. but hitch rating of class III is only 5000 lbs?

Cars.com says 5,600/5,800. Even Cadillac's website says the same. Unsure where you are getting your information from.

Class 3 hitches have 2 categories. Class III hitches used as weight carrying are rated up to 6000 lbs. gross trailer weight (GTW) with a maximum trailer tongue weight (TW) of 600 lbs. Class III hitches used for weight distributing are rated up to 10,000 lbs. gross trailer weight (GTW) with a maximum trailer tongue weight (TW) of 1000 lbs.

Gross combined of 12,000 lbs. So Esky, MB, and trailer or towing dolly total.

I drag the 22 foot Sea Ray and trailer around behind a 2-mode just fine.

4100 lb curb weight on the Benz leaves under 2000 lbs for other. ( trailer and equipment) And yes any "quality" trailer will have the ability for load leveling and sway control.

found a nifty expensive aluminum trailer @ 1500 lbs.

I run my tires up to but never over the max written on the tire side wall.

The U Haul is on the heavy side as car haulers go. You are going to be a little over the rating. See if you can get a CAT Scale weight on the whole rig as you travel.

Let us know how it goes.

I estimate the car transporter to be 2000 lbs and the SUV 4000lvs. About 6000 lbs still within the rating. The owners manual says 7800 lbs but my sales guy had a GM cadillac booklet of ratings and listed the old and new escalade at 8100 lbs and 10,000 lbs with weight distributing hitch. I'll try to go to weighing station close by.
