I noticed a few people mentioning that they do not have a proper hybrid owner manual.

thanks, that does seem to give a little different info than what my little supplemental manual has. it does mention towing in 2 places. now I don't see the point of putting the extra wear on the clutches that make up the extra overdrive/ variable ratio that D uses. so I do feel like just leaving it in M4 while towing is worth doing. but check the screen caps, it says you can tow in D or M4, but you can use manual mode if you find the tranny hunting for gears to often. anyways in the 2nd part, it says if you have manual trailer brakes, it may inter auto stop without hitting the foot brake. it would only go into auto stop if you're in D. interesting, if not really a big deal.
