My car has been in the shop 4 times now because the number one cylinder over heats? and the spark plug cracks. Car shakes violently when this happens. They have no idea what the problem is. Any ideas?

 

bad injector? running lean in that cylinder? Has anyone "read" the plug after removed immediately after the break?

 

They say there is oil on the plug and oil in the cylinder. About an hour ago they called and said they would replace the engine.

 

Well, that will fix it!

Sounds like something that would work in other trades too.

...but not a hybrid issue although there have been engines replaced due to oiling failures.
