Default LRR all season tires - 2012 edition

We haven't discussed tires for a while. Since my OEM tires are finished before even reaching 30k miles, I thought I'd see what the current recommendations are since tires seem to change a bit from year to year.

I'm hoping to get LRR tires
that will last 40K-60K miles
and that will give excellent winter traction
and a nice all around ride

Suggestions?

I have bridgetone duelers alenzas in my escalade hybrid with 285/45-22 as well as my pilot with 235/70-16 and they lasted at least 60k miles.

The Alenzas seem to have much different reviews then the Dueler HT - which are the OEM tires. I'm down to no tread on the HTs and haven't hit 30K miles yet. Given that - I would have even considered another Bridgestone Dueler assuming they are all basically the same - but now with your comments, I'll certainly check them out.

I've used both the Bridgestone Dueler and Goodyear SL Fortera, both are oem spec tires for 07+ GM full size SUVs, and I found the Goodyear to be a slightly superior tire. However I'm not sure either of those are LRR tires.

With regular rotation I've seen the stock Dueler HTs make 49k to 52k. On the wear bars by then. Without rotation on 4X4s they can go fast inside on fronts. They also get noisy. The tread blocks are not super aggressive but I have gotten around alright in 2WD on snow. So I put a set on my AWD Vue. Second winter coming up.

the bridestone dueler H/L alenzas are certified LRR tires. the good thing about upgrading to these tires are it is super quiet as well as handle great in M+S.

Interesting, i didn't know that, maybe that's why I preferred the GY ... it sort of stands to reason that lower resistance is due to lower friction and thus lower grip. The tread on the GY seemed to hold up better than the BStones, but then again that might be my imagination as I don't keep vehicles, much less wheels/tires, long enough to really know.

after my oem GY integrities in my pilot which did not have traction, I went with the Bridgestone dueler AT revo which lasted 50k miles but was very noisy. after that, changed to the alenzas and I'm on my 2nd set because I liked it. I guess you can say my pilot has 200k+ miles.
