Default Looking for ex/current GM sales dudes with info on incentive programs

I'm in talks with the local (Hawaii) dealer on a 2009 Tahoe Hybrid and he told me they have a total of $4,000 in current incentives. $3,000 cash incentive for Tahoe Hybrid (expires 06/01/09) and $1,000 cash incentive for GM loyalty (expires 06/03/09). They're also going to get me supplier pricing through their Credit Union member program and that figures in for another couple of grand. If you throw in the tax credits this ends up being almost a no brainer ..... except they only have a Blue Granite one left and I want Black.

Question for those in the know out there is what are the odds that GM will have better incentives next month (i.e. next week)? With the bankruptcy and all going on, I'm tempted to wait and see if GM gives more cash to get rid of "old" stock. Any opinions out there (especially from those who know insider info on how these cash incentives are worked out)?

I can only relate my recent experience.
2008 GMC Yukon black every option sticker 57,000. I said whats the bottom line, after some go to the counter and look stuff up kind of thing they came back with 43,000 then we started with my trade 98 jeep with 147000 miles, It was a great car but 11 mpg just got to me...anyway I drove off the lot at 39,000.00 then I qualify for the 2200.00 hybrid rebate and add to that the Ossama bailout that gets me my sales tax back...jan of next year im comming out smelling like a rose. on top of all that this thing really works! I just went 4 weeks on one tank of gas with normal driving including 2 100 mile road trips! Im a happy camper!
my strong suit was that i was offering cash no muss no fuss, I just want to buy the car, I don't know if that helped but in jan when the finance option was minimal it might have swayed them. also dec jan is the best time to buy a car.

I bought mine in June '08, with no one in the dealers and $5 gas. Seriously, 5pm Friday there was no body in the largest Chevy dealer in the nation! I paid $43,000 plus tax, etc. Traded in my all-blowed-up van for $2,500, which covered some of tax/fees. Didn't really need the tax-credit, but I'll use it someday.

I've heard of the $2200 hybrid rebate, but not heard of a sales tax credit. Where can I find more information on this?

****, can't get it.

The new vehicle must be purchased on or after Feb. 17, 2009, and before Jan. 1, 2010, to qualify for the deduction. Purchases before Feb. 17, 2009, are not eligible for this special deduction.
