The 2012 Escalade Hybrid ranks number one in the 2012 large luxury SUV segment with an overall score of 8.6/10. What other big SUVs do you like in hybrid segment?

 

nothing touches the escalade hybrid in the large SUV segment. I get 19-20 city and up to 25mpg in the highway. it has been a very reliable vehicle for me. just waiting for the next design. there are other hybrids out there but not the size that the escalade brings.

 

There is no other Hybrid full size SUV other than the GM ones that I am aware of.

 

Right it's all about bigger SUVs with better fuel mileage. Escalade is the clear champ. My 2012 Escalade gets about 20 City / 23 Hwy.

Ton*miles/gallon

Prius 1.5 tons ~ 42 mpg = 63 ton.miles/gallon

Escalade 4X4 hybrid 3.25 tons ~ 21 mpg = 68 ton.miles/gallon.

The primary function of the hybrid system is to recapture the rolling energy rather than just make hot dirty brake rotors. So I would say that from a purly physics standpoint, the Prius and big Sport Brutility vehicle in hybrid make sense depending on what you need.
