Default Will back lay fully flat?

Hi,

I am currently driving a Prius, but it is a little small for my needs. I happened to walk by an Escape, and it looked like with the back seat down, the back was truly flat (as best I could tell through the tinted glass). In e.g. a Highlander, the back seat does not lay fully flat. Since I plan to so some car camping, a flat layout would be a plus. Does the back seat ineed lay fully flat? Thanks.

It does indeed....at least in the 2005-2007 version. Can't speak for the 08-09 but I would assume they maintain this ability.

I own an '05 and an '09... no change in how the back seats fold down. They lay fully flat.

This bugged me too, but while i was looking for the key programming procedures in the owners manual in my 06 i read that they are supposed to go under the front seats from the back.

with the seats folded flat there is tons of room, this and better mileage is the reason I got rid of my WRX.

That's interesting, since I recall reading causes of the airbag to stay on could be something under the passanger seat...
