Stop Safely randomly in cold weather - C1862,P0A27 ,P0562

Hello,

We have a 2005 Ford Escape Hybrid that runs fine in the warmer months. However, when it gets cold the car will give the orange triangle and pull over safely message. Sometimes this happens instantly. Other time it will be after an hour of driving. Here is the android forscan lite results. I'm having issues finding what this code really means: Code: C1862 - Contactor Circuit Failure

I've never shot this problem but it could potentially be as simple as a bad/open service disconnect plug on the High Voltage Traction Battery.

G1 INSPECT THE SERVICE DISCONNECT PLUG FOR AN OPEN
  • Ignition OFF.
  • Remove the service disconnect plug and inspect for an open. Make sure that the high-voltage fuse resistance is less than one ohm. If the high-voltage fuse is open, refer to DTC P0A95 for instructions. Refer to High-Voltage Traction Battery Systems Depowering in this section.
  • Is the service disconnect plug open?

Thanks Alex! I'm going to replace it and see if that helps.

Hope it helps. Otherwise you're going to be shooting that Pin-40 test and I have no idea what the P0562-FF System Voltage Low might indicate, other than the obvious. You should try to get a reading on the voltage level of the HVTB with Forscan.
