Should Willard stay or leave?

It sounds like many people would prefer to have Willard leave.

Willard says there's a silent majority that don't want that.

This is your chance to vote.

He should be forced to buy an FEH. Or I suppose we could take up a collection and buy one for him.

Ditto...don't leave GH...just stick to commenting on vehicles you actually know something about.

I personally ignore just about anything Willard types, but would never consider banning him from the forum. If he were causing fights or violating the forums TOS with vulgarity, pornographic posts or other such types of violations I would vote yes. Once we start banning people for stupidity and inacurracy we start to walk a dark and dangerous path of censorship. It is a fine line, and as much as I would like to see him not post in the FEH section, I would not like to cross it.

Willard is the village idiot who researches and reads all available (within "reach") documentation, comprehends much of same, on/about any vehicle being considering for purchase and thinks that qualifies him to comment intelligently on these subjects at various internet sites.

Current discussions of interest are FEH F/awd functionality and possible reduction of regen capability at or near sub-freezing outside temperatures.

Oh, and overall safety, or lack thereof, of FWD and/or F/awd vehicles.

Re: Should Willard stay or leave?

Well, that confirms it....

I get to keep my '01 F/awd RX300 for a few more years..

The new 2010 RX350, along with the new Toyota Venza, has a "new" awd drive system that is virtually a replica of the one in the Ford Escape, Mercury Mariner, Mazda Tribute, and more likely than not the CX-7 (***).

Basically a "linear" electric clutch (made "linear" by virtue of PWM) mounted just forward of the rear diff'l, integral to the rear diff'l housing. No drive to the rear under normal circumstances, only under hard acceleration or wheelspin/slip at the front. Instant decoupling with/upon braking (or inadvertent VSC activation) to allow ABS to be fully fictional.

The 2010 RX350 owners manual awd description reads the same as the Escape and CX-7 so I suspect a high level of commonality, if not totally so.

And:

BACK TO THE FUTURE....!!

The 2010 F/awd RX350 has a pushbutton wherein the rear drive can be temporarily locked when driving below 18MPH.
