Repair history
I have one of the first 4000 (2005) Escape Hybrids. I have enjoyed 63,000+ virtually trouble-free miles (gas cap, 12-volt battery, 2 tires). In the past two weeks I have had the AC compressor and the MECS coolant pump replaced. I admit, I'm spoiled; but I am interested to know what other repairs my fellow Escape Hybrid owners have experienced. Thank goodness for extended warranty and AAA!

Re: Repair history
Hi there. I've had good luck with my 2005 FEH. I have replaced the MECS coolant pump and the rear brakes. Just regular maintenance. I've noticed some surface rust on the bottom on the driver and passenger doors ( Stupid plastic cladding).
Replaced stabilizer bar links.

Re: Repair history
Hi there, I've had with my 2005 FEH Right Front Wheel bearing replaced at 80k km,
Tires replaced to Michelin LTX at 113k km,
Sway bar links at 123k km,
Air Con. condenser suspected leaks now, could be just O ring on hose connection will be know for sure next Monday, unspeakable amount of money cost to repair Air cond., but Hybrid battery compartment and brake regeneration system cooling by air conditioning, so be aware of that.

Replaced original stock tires at 95K miles.
Oil changes every 10K miles
wifes 06 FEH 4WD 110K miles:
Replaced tires @ ~ 60K
AC now needs service as it's getting weak
Overall very pleased with the lack of issues on these vehicles so far.
Edit: Also replaced 12V batteries on both vehicles at around 80K.

Re: Repair history
Thanks everyone. I'm encouraged to see comparable vehicles with much higher mileage than mine are still providing good service. Let me know if anything else crops up so I can add it to my checklist for its next scheduled maintenance. Have a happy hybrid summer!

Re: Repair history
I have a 2006 FEH purchased in Dec 05. Now at ~66,000 miles.
No major issues so far. Replaced the MECS pump proactively at about 55k since I had seen a number of people mention failures on this website. The new pump was a completely different design pump.
All other systems are functioning well so far. Noted that Ford amy not install the Cabin Air Filter on FEHs and sure enough there was not one when I opened it up to check. It was apparent from debris in there that it had never had one.
The bracket or holder or whatever is there so just go buy a cabin air filter and put it in.
