here is my new pioneer AVIC Z140BH GPS navigation DVD player in my05' Ford Escape Hybrid.
It sounds awesome and i swapped one of my radio id's on my lifetime Sirius subscription no problems to the new radio.

it cost me ...a $75 activation fee, but i'd rather pay that than a monthly fee for a subscription when I had xm and a Sirius account I paidover $200. every 3 months for 5 radios now I pay nothing for 5 radios on my lifetime subscription. Note my Nokia Lumia 920 red WP8 and the buttons on my radio are red looks great!.

 

Nice setup. I like the double din display much better than any stock setup. Good luck.

Just curious, what are those two middle buttons on the same row as your hazard light? Does that say MP3?

I don't know why but it almost looks as though your dash is... wider than mine and I also have an 05FEH (FWD though)--maybe because I'm sick, I'm just seeing things?

What kind of harness did you use to mount your Pioneer? I want to do the same thing but install a 3G Nexus 7 into it, something like this but permanently mounted: http://imgur.com/a/FjFAw#0

 

Oh you mean above the radio? those are my NFC (Near Field communication) Tags for my windows pone 1 says Music the other says GPS.

If I tap music it starts playing my music right away, if I tap GPS it starts my GPS.

Which pioneer are you getting?

Not sure which harness was used I had it prof installed. here is the correct radio mounting kit for your FEH.

Metra 95-5817 Double DIN Installation Dash Kit for Select 1995-2008 Ford, Lincoln, Mercury, and Mazda Vehicles.

Interesting dates on that install kit, since the 2008 Escape has an entirely different design.

 

The '08 body changed from the earlier Escapes, but most of the big changes were in the '09 Escapes. I think the Nav system didn't change in the '08, but my '09 has the bigger screen W/Sync and a six disc changer built-in the unit. It makes sense the radio wiring harness would be the same in the '05 - '08 FEH.

I just googled the images, and there is a vast difference between the two center stacks. But I suppose it could be the same wiring harness. It just seems odd because to reconfigure the electronics location like that would seem to require different fittings.

You're right Steve, the '08 and the '09 stack look close to the same. I wonder if the '08 CD nav system is the same as the older units GPS. I don't have a CD GPS or the under seat 6 CD changer in my '09.
