Question Linear Logic Scangauge support ?

Has anyone else experienced serious problems when trying to contact Linear Logic to get support for the ScanGauge II device ? I have one that I obtained just a few months ago now, & have been trying to contact them via email to see about sending it in for a firmware update . Doesn't seem like they are responding to emails at all, & calls where I've left voicemail messages have not been returned in more than 2 weeks. I hope they aren't having serious issues...

I've called and it appears they screen their calls because of so many new different vehicle questions they don't have answers to. For instance desertdog had to have me ask Ron Delong (inventor) about programming ideas for the FEH SoC. Ron and Carl got together and as a result the FEH X-Gauge programming was greatly expanded. LL wants the SGII to be generic to all vehicles as much as possible for sales volume and they don't have experienced staff and time to handle all questions. In your case, it might be cheaper for them and you if you just bought a newer SGII if there is a better firmware update from the one you got. The SGII is not perfect for all vehicles but for $149 on GH it's a hell of a buy for what it does do. I bought 4 and gave the old big box style to a friend. One of the processors in one of my SGII can't be programmed for SoC so I use it for the gauges it's good for in one of my FEH. The SGII can be daisy chained together so I don't have to be changing the gauges all around to monitor all of the gauges at a glance.

Also, try asking your questions on these forums before contacting SGII. You might get a better way to ask Ron and get an answer. Remember, the SGII was not designed for the FEH or FFH and they are a lot more complicated than the OBDII standard readout requirements by US Law. Ford is also now removing information in their manuals to prevent programming the SGII and others from reading their computer modules.

This move is sure to put a cramp in the sales of all OBD-II scanners! I know that my scanner shows much fewer PIDs on my '09 FE compared to a '07 Taurus.
