Bolt on performance parts?

Bolt on performance parts?
I have an '07 MMH/AWD.
Do they make any performance parts? All I've been able to find is this K&N air filter 33-2347, which I'm not sure is considered a performance part.
Do they make cold air intakes, high flow exhausts/headers, pulley's, etc? Or does this run counterculture with what most hybrider's do with their vehicles?
I am a reformed gas guzzler (previous vehicles were V-8 Mustang's and F-150's), so replacing all those parts I listed above were just my standard things... It might take me a little while to get used to using leaving things stock (I have 2 custom Harley's).
Thanks.

Re: Bolt on performance parts?
Yeah I get the whole fuel efficiency thing... but you would think a higher flowing intake/exhaust setup would result in better mpg.
I would just like a little more ommph and keep the same mpg that I currently obtain, if that's at all possible. Although I am finding that with hybrids there is a delicate balance that always needs to take place.
I probably should have just gone with the Accord hybrid, Toyota Highlander hybrid or Lexus GS 450h or RX 400h...my dad is a Ford engineer, so I couldn't put him out of work.

Re: Bolt on performance parts?
Who cares about your Dad? He can find work anywhere right, he's an engineer! When Ford goes belly up they'll be tons of new engineering jobs at Toyota. If Ford can't make you a satisfied customer then they DESERVE to go outta business, right! They're just too stupid to do anything right. Why would your Dad even work for Ford?
I say take the FEH back right now and worship Toyota. They are simply perfection in every way. Better than chocolate.
Opps I see you have a MMH, not an FEH. Oh well, same ol same ol...

Yeah I sort of agree with you. It actually caused a lot of anguish between my dad and myself. He is 66 and a 38 year employee at Ford (wants to put in his 40 years and retire, says he's not ready yet). He is way, way old school and we keep telling him that with his pension, 401k and social security he will probably make more money...but he is hell bent on me and my sister staying loyal, telling me that it was Ford money that put food on the table, a roof over our heads and put me and my sister all the way through graduate school (although he never paid for graduate school, since my sister and I took out student loans for that)...
In any event, I never stepped foot in a Toyota, Lexus or Honda dealer in my whole life (grew up outside Detroit and now live outside Chicago) and we were going to pull the trigger on the Highlander hybrid or the Accord Hybrid, both drove really nice...my wife having grown up in Milwaukee and has only had foreign cars really had no desire to get Ford products, so she was pulling for me to buy a Lexus... Anyways, I caved into my dad's request. I figure I'll buy my first Honda or Toyota AFTER he officially retires...I think I can hold out 2 more years.
Sorry I am getting way off topic.

No your not man. I was being sarcastic. You own the coolest Hybrid on the market, bar none. That's just a fact. Where else are you gonna get a 4wd SUV that handles like a cat in all weather, runs like a V6 and gets over 30mpg!
If fact the FEH/MMH is so well done, so well thought out, Toy worshipers will tell you that Ford ripped off the technology from Toyota. They are that profoundly envious of Ford's accomplishments.
Everyone in my family has had one Toy. One, that's it. I had one, used it to haul firewood. Killed it. My Dad bought a brand new Tacoma when he retired. Sold it in 6 months. Wouldn't pack a sack of feed without dragging it's rear. Bought another Ford.
I have a '94 f150 4wd that has 203k miles on it. It's hauled, oh... 75 cords of wood, maybe 15 tons of trash, biomass and recycled goods to the transfer station, and yet I drive it to work every day. Still gets 18 to 19 mpg.
SWMBO has had Subaru's and Nissans (Nissans are tough little cars) since 1988 for daily drivers. Sold them to get the FEH. Has 17K on it since July '06 and just loves it. Including commute and vacations she puts ~35k on her cars per year. I'd love to be the first private party to have 300k on a 4wd FEH! That would be too cool.

I've personally had really great "luck" with every Ford product I've had, and my dad (very biased) feels the same way. This is my 6th Ford vehicle in 20 years, and as long as I stick to my schedule things seem to turn out well. Mobil 1 oil changed every 5K (or in this instance with the MMH at 10K) usually does the trick.
I am happy with the SUV...just tough when the wife wants a Lexus and dad wants brand loyalty.
Wow cool videos... Wonder what their mpg is ! Seriously I can't believe there aren't any cool aftermarket parts to slap on that help mpg and on the HP end, other than the K&N filter...which I don't think the K&N filter does anything on performance other than helps my pocketbook from buying 10 cheapo air filters, and potentially less waste.

I too have looked for some aftermarket parts. The problem I've found is that the intake is very different in the FEH. Suspension parts and catback exhausts are available as those are the same as "normal" Escapes.
With only 7k miles I've done three things that has improved MPG. I verified this with a baseline MPG run on a local highway (cruise set).

- Replaced air filter with K&N
- Removed the filter silencer tube (upstream from filter box)
- Removed honeycomb from intake tube (downstream from filter)

Re: Bolt on performance parts?
Your point is well taken. It's 'luck' if a domestic vehicle 'makes it' to 200k but intelligent design (hehehe) when Toy or Hon does.
The white FEH is Raven, the red one is BadFrog. You can check the database, see if they post their mpg. Both fellows are from Michigan. I think Badfrog has a lift kit and tires, but not sure what else for performance though.
Lexus? no way....

So do you think this exhaust would fit an '07 MMH?

Oh yeah, as far as exterior... Any good places for black safari and nerf bars???
