Default 2008 Nav system into 2007 model FEH??

First time poster. Just got my FEH about a week ago, and so far I'm very delighted with it!
I'm considering changing out the radio though. Currently, I have the standard, non-nav, 6-Disc stereo. Do any of you know if it's possible to install a newer Escape navigation unit (say 2008) into my 2007 FEH? Do they have the same dimensions, plugs, etc. I imagine the same type of info is available to both of them, regarding the vehicle systems (charge, mileage, etc).
For that matter, is it even possible to replace my radio with the 2007 model that has the navigation and systems display? I've looked the internet over, and I can't seem to find a straight answer to this question. Thanks!

You can put a navigation unit from a 2008 into a 2005-2007, but you will have to trim the bezel a fair amount to get it to fit. Also, the wiring and connectors are completely different and you will have to custom make something. The 2008 has a direct MSCAN interface, whereas the 2005-2007 used a module to convert the MSCAN from the instrument cluster to the ACP that the Visteon radios used. I am actually looking into this right now as I found a cheap 2008 nav unit from a non-hybrid in a local salvage yard and may have a more detailed answer sometime in the near future.

The first gen nav is an easy retrofit. I actually did this about 2 years ago. If you find a complete setup, it's just plug and play. Otherwise you need to buy a wiring harness from Ford (~$60 IIRC), antenna(~$55), ACP module ($120), and of course the discs. You will still retain the average econ display in the instrument cluster. As a nav unit, though, it is not all that great.

And of course, if you happen to be looking to BUY a 2008 Nav Radio with the Sirius module and speakers... I happen to be selling that exact thing:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...m=230344144434

The radio gets the signals to display the "Hybrid Energy Flow" from the MSCAN bus, as well as the signal that the headlights have gone on and the VSS signal (used if the GPS reception is poor). If you didn't care about the graph or the auto-dimming, you could just hook up the power and speakers, otherwise, im sure that you can find the correct connections. The wiring harness SHOULD be the same for all 2005+ Fords with the MSCAN bus (at least, that's what PAC Audio says when selling the CAN module for aftermarket radios).

Want to give me a clue to what the reserve is on your auction for the nav system?
