Default 10-12 mpg city, 27 fwy, whats wrong?

anyone that has found solutions or suggest solutions, I appreciate the input

update, now it runs on "ev"/ battery, but only for a short time - city mpg has gotten better, but I feel there is still something wrong. no check lights/ codes

Search the archives. Most common issues are thermostat, rear blend door, rear air filter, failed battery fans.

I changed the battery, seems to have slightly better mpg @~15 city now. changing fuel filter next

changed spark plugs, engine response is stronger averaging ~18/19 city 30 fwy

What model year is your FEH? How many miles are on it now?

206, mariner ~180k miles. I changed the rear filter, it looked oem and probably never changed - the hybrid battery worked a lot better. I also changed the coil packs which provided immediate low end response, before it was bogging. it now get 27 fwy, 31 city. I still think it can perform better

Interesting. I figured a coil pack was either all good or dead.
I may try that. Coil packs are cheap and easy to replace.

a/c works great. I've notice a slight rough idle. after doing research, it suggests i change the fpr. i'll be changing that next
