09' Escape Hybrid Heat problem
My 09, once warmed up will go into EV mode when at a light or stopped like normal but the cabin temperature will continue to drop without the engine starting automatically. I also cannot force the engine to run by selecting defrost or taking it out of eco mode. Any thoughts?

I'm having the same problem with my '05. Gets really cold inside when it's zero outside and the cabin heater pump isn't turning on. likewise I haven't been able to force the ICE on by turning the heater controls in to the 'red zone'.

Re: 09' Escape Hybrid Heat problem
I went to the dealer.....a little back story; I hit a deer back in October which took out the right front side. I took it to a local body shop that I've dealt with before. The dealer found that when the body shop replaced the radiator support crossmember assembly they failed to reconnect the cannon plug to the cabin heater pump. They also failed to remount it so it was jus hanging there. Poor quality control by the body shop technician when reassembling caused the problem and cost me $230 to get it right.

That would keep it from working..... Don't you just love incompetence.
By the way, I fixed my "ICE not turning on with heater controls in the 'Red Zone' problem" by disconnecting the 12V battery for a 1/2 hour thereby 're-booting' my Escape's computer.
